F5 VPN Web Browser Connection
When working remotely you will need to connect your computer to the VPN. VPN connection will allow you to access any internal applications such as JDE, and Maximo, or access network shared drives like J: and S:
BIG-IP Edge Client application without using a city-issued computer. You will need to connect to a VPN through the Internet browser.
Before making a connection to VPN you need to register for RSA. Instructions for RSA registration are here.
Please follow these steps on how to connect to a VPN through the web browser:
1. Open the web browser of your choice
2. Navigate to the URL http://access.bellevuewa.gov
3. You will be prompted to install "Endpoint Inspector". Click on Install/Reinstall Endpoint Inspector
4. Click on the "Download" button on the next prompt. After Endpoint Inspector finishes downloading, please run the application to install it. Click on the prompt that says "Click here when the installation completes".
5. You will see a couple of prompts with one where you would check the box to allow access and the security alert you want to click on "Add this site to your Trusted Sites list, and always allow inspection from this site."
6. You will be prompted to enter your username and password. The next screen will ask for SecurID OTP. This is an 8-digit RSA code that you can retrieve from the RSA Authenticator application.
7. You will be prompted to download the "Network Access" application. Click on the "Download" button. After the download is complete, please run the application to install. Click on the prompt that says, "Click here when the installation completes". Check the box to always allow access and click on "Open"
8. On the landing page of the VPN click on the "VPN Access button". To test your connection, you can try checking your network drives, logging into internal applications such as JDE, or remote desktop to a device on the city network.
