Google Analytics Dashboards and Filters
Dashboards
Under the left sidebar, there are about ten preconfigured dashboards for items demographics and analytics that will be valuable to your content. Using filters, you'll be able to contrast between date ranges, the whole site vs departments, or other preconfigured values. These are useful if you're only wanting a holistic view of the site, date range, or department.
Filtering Content
- Look for the All Users segment with total page views, unique page views, avg. time on page, and top pages, etc.
- To filter it by Departments, click on + Add Segment.
- Once you click + Add Segment, you will see a list of all the different segments.
- Scroll down and find your Department and click on the checkbox next to the Department name and click Apply. (Also, you can uncheck all users if you don’t want comparison).
- You can compare data by adding segments.
- If you use the date picker, you can adjust the time period and contrast up to 2 date ranges at a time.
Exporting Your Dashboard or Segment Report
Navigate to the dashboard or page that you would like to export, then click on Export and it should prompt you to export your dashboard to a PDF file. Clicking yes starts to download the file in the format that you request.
